Prior to this backpack-type blower, I had the handheld type. It did a satisfactory job in the yard but this is no comparison to this backpack model. This blower packs a punch with both speed and air volume for the price. There are some higher volume blowers available but for general use around the yard, it’s great. Perhaps a little cumbersome getting the unit onto your back initially but that’s about it. It’s comfortable and your back remains cool. The only con I have is when you start it, follow the instructions verbatim! Mine tends to flood the carburetor when pulling the cord. After the choke is closed, pull the start cord and on the first fire, OPEN the choke and it should run fine. All in all, it’s a good addition to my yard equipment.

The product arrived in good condition, assembly was basic, quick, and easy. The engine fired up on the second pull!. The unit weighs a bit over 20 lbs. I used it for a couple of hours and didn’t find it to be cumbersome on the back. As far as the functionality goes, it did a great job on my leaves and pine needles! I have a relatively big yard with lots of pines and oaks dropping leaves and needles and the product was efficient at blowing them. I bought this one because it was rated very high on a google search and so far has lived up to its standard. I have several other echo products and have always been happy with their engines. Some reviews complained about a lot of plastic on the unit and there is but what isn’t these days? Not really an issue for me. The unit does blow a large amount of air into your back which they claim will cool you off in warm weather, which I assume works well but I haven’t used it in the hot weather yet, but I could feel the air hitting me. The warranty to me seems impressive with a 5 year residential and 2-year commercial. My initial run consisted of almost 2 hrs of steady use with a long time at full throttle without issue!
